Overview

Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded durring the late 13th century in fall of the year 1176, by Szyh. The establishment of Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Szyh struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v as a prison colony.

Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v is buildings are built arround a single crampt paverstone mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the city a over all circular shape. The city rests behind a thin stone wall. The wall's design was likly directly copied from a castle's parmiter defences. It's simply that the arcatect made Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v's wall substancialy thinner than a castle's walls. While the towers and gatehouses are adiquite, the obvious cost savings measure of making the walls drasticaly thinner reduces their ability to resist siege weapons greatly. The city's impressive-looking wall could fail at a critical moment in battle, and would likely not even resist a few bandits with improvised siege equipment. Astonishigly, the budget oriented are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v has the unmistakable air of a city on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v ’s existence has dried up and the city is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Likely due to this, Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a city, and more like a spot people just happened to have homes. One cannot help but wonder what Bèjgin Ji̊ Qi̊v was like during the glorydays.
